Bulldog Basketball Camp

Cheney spent the last 3 mornings at "Rookie" Basketball Camp at our local college. This camp was perfect for him because it was only for younger kids & there was a limit to how many campers could attend. This allowed him to get some great instruction...
HE HAD A BLAST!! This was his 1st experience playing basketball (besides on the driveway) & he is hooked. He will get to play in the city league this year!! I can't wait....basketball is one sport that I like--maybe because it is indoors??

Getting warmed up. It was hard to take a picture of him actually playing ball. They move so fast most of my pictures were streaks.

Because Cheney always moved so fast, he received the MR. HUSTLE award. This was also his 1st experience where not everyone got a special award. He sure did like being singled out...he got his 1st taste of actual competition. Don't get me wrong, I am all for everybody feeling like they did a good job, but the whole "everybody win's so we don't keep score" annoys me...it isn't a game if there isn't a winner & loser.

I am so proud that Cheney got this award. We always talk about how the most important thing is to "Do Your Best." Way to go, Cheney!!

This guy was Cheney's FAVORITE coach. He was hilarious!! We don't know his name....Cheney said "Mom, we just call him Coach." Coach brought hair gel on the last day & let Cheney fix his hair!! The cool part about living in a small town is that Cheney saw his "coach" in Wal-Mart after the first day of camp. He was PUMPED to give him knuckles...

These are the other two Coaches who worked with them. Through much deliberation, we have decided that Coach Isaac is in the red. We don't know the other...

Poor Chandler. She cried each day we dropped Bubba off & was so happy to see him when we picked him up!!

Way to go Cheney!!

Or Mr. Hustle as I think he should now be appropriately called! :)
