Party @ ZDT

This afternoon, Cheney had his 6th Birthday Party at ZDT. We had tons of fun!! Unfortunately, Chandler wasn't feeling so good so she went home early with MeMe & Pop. Thanks MeMe & Pop for helping us out!! We love you!!

Once again, MeMe outdid herself with an AWESOME cake. Cheney's invitations had a hunting theme so MeMe made a "hunting" cake. It looked & tasted GREAT!!

Cheney & Micayla have been friends since birth. It is amazing to see how much they have grown. I am so glad that they are friends!!

Cheney & Deano--they are best buddies. Cheney is soooo excited that Deano will be going on vacation with us this summer. I am thinking that the plane ride is going to be a loud one: 6 kids sitting together!!

That was exhausting!! I wish that I could say I made it to the top, but I didn't. I almost rang the bell, but I just couldn't. They said I could try again...but my legs were TIRED!!

Where did I go?? Can you see my feet?? I was 16-18 ft. in the air when I was at the top. It was fun, but it took my breath away.

Cheney, Mommy loves you so much!! I know that I had a great time at your birthday party & I am sure that you did too!! Thanks for being such a wonderful kid. You make me so proud. I know that I am going to have fun watching you grow up, but I know that it will make me sad too.

Opening Day

Today was opening day for Little League. Cheney's 1st game and pictures were this morning. He was really excited!! When he got his uniform completely on, he looked so grown up! I am sure that you will lots of pictures throughout the season. I hope you enjoy them!!

Chandler's Picnic

Yesterday, Chandler's school invited the parents (or other family member) for a picnic and some kite flying. Monday through Thursday we had great winds for flying kites, but on Friday?? The air was completely still. I went to eat with Chandler and attempted to get her kite in the air. I did and it would stay up AS LONG AS I DIDN'T STOP RUNNING!! After several attempts and a few tears, we decided to just play on the swings. Which of course, she loved.

Happy Birthday MeMe & Uncle Mitch!

Tonight, we went out for dinner to celebrate MeMe & Uncle Mitch's Birthday Dinner. We had a great time!! It is so nice to have our family close by so we can spend time with them.

Chandler carried Uncle Mitch's card around all afternoon. She couldn't wait until she could help him open it.

Of course, she quickly moved over to help her MeMe open her gifts.

Cheney & Uncle Mitch spent most of the night playing around with each other!! In this picture, Uncle Mitch was trying to kiss Cheney because he was wearing a necklace-the shark tooth necklace Grandma bought him in Hawaii.

Birthday Fun!!

Cheney got to pick where we ate dinner tonight. If you know Cheney, you know that he LOVES Chili's. So of course, that is where we headed for his birthday dinner. He knew exactly what he wanted: broccoli cheese soup, boneless buffalo wings with ranch dressing, and a molten chocolate cake!!!! He opened presents from us, MeMe & Pop, Grandma, Uncle Jeff & Aunt Kerry, Granny Nette and Papa Jim, and Uncle Ernie, Travis, & Kelly. He will get the rest of his presents on Saturday at his birthday party. Cheney is such a great big brother--he even let Chandler open a present for him!! Way to share with your little sister, Cheney!!

Can you believe that Cheney got an IPOD Nano?? He was very pumped!! Don't worry--Daddy locked the volume so it can't go too loud & there are rules for when he is allowed to use it.

MeMe & Pop gave Cheney a basketball goal for his birthday. After dinner, we headed over to our house to try it out. It looks like it will be great fun for the whole family!!

Happy Birthday Love Bug!

I really can't believe that 6 years ago tonight, I was lying on the couch thinking that I was really tired and didn't feel very good. What I didn't know was that in less than 12 hours, Cheney Scott would be born--except we didn't know if HE was Cheney Scott or if SHE was Cheney Lynn. When I was growing up, I always thought it was so goofy that my mom would say things like "7 years ago tonight, we were eating Mexican food hoping that would force you to make your appearance" or "12 years ago this morning, we were driving to the hospital in the snow." Today and tonight, I found myself thinking along the same lines. I remember like yesterday the day before Cheney was born. I had gone to church for Sunday morning worship & just never could get comfortable. I laid on the couch all afternoon & skipped Sunday night services because I just didn't feel good. Cheney made his appearance by 9 am the next morning. I remember most everything VERY CLEARLY because I had no drugs!! I wasn't a very pleasant person-SORRY to all of you!! That pain gave me the most beautiful, sweet, and intelligent little boy--although he isn't so little anymore!! Everyday, he teaches me so many new things. I love listening to his stories & details of his day. Clearly, our family has been blessed by him.
