Spring Break 2012: King Tut & Houston Zoo

Today was the highlight of trip......we visited the King Tut exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts. It was AMAZING!! We couldn't take pictures inside but this is a pretty cool picture of the outside advertisement. The exhibit is only in the United States for a few more weeks....totally worth the trip to see it.

After the Tut, we went to the Houston Zoo. We all agreed that the giraffes were really cool.

.

We are having a great time this trip.

Spring Break 2012: Museum Of Natural Science & Swimming

We woke up to more rain....like ridiculous amounts!!! So we headed to the Museum of Natural Science to explore. It was really awesome. I realized that Chandler had never seen dinosaur bones like that in a museum. It was fun to watch her learn new things.

They had an indoor bug & butterfly exhibit. There were TONS of butterflies. We tried to identify the different species but it was hard because there were so many.

.

If you sat still enough, the butterflies would fly close. Cheney sat still & immediately had several orange butterflies around him.

.

It stopped raining enough that we were able to venture outside. There was a cool water sculpture of a huge sundial.

After we explored, we came back to the RV park. They have a heated pool & Chandler was dying to get in the water!!

.

Both kids think MeMe & Pop need to heat their pool so they can swim year round!!

Spring Break 2012: Downtown Aquarium

It was rainy when we pulled into Houston so we headed to downtown Houston to visit the Aquarium. It was a great way to spend the evening--the Shark Train was the best part.

.

Waiting for the train to leave the depot for our voyage.
