Destination Imagination is a problem solving competition that is HUGE in our district. The serious competition starts in 3rd grade, but to prepare the kids there is a local competition called Rising Stars. This is for 1st & 2nd grade only. Cheney has been invited to be part of a team for the past two years. It is a pretty big commitment....next year is bigger though. The kids can have no adult help....not even to carry their props!! Cheney loves every minute of it!! His GT teacher, Ms. Krippner, said that he isn't acting....he is just being himself!!
The 2nd grade Jefferson Avenue Elementary team carried the banner for the parade of champions.

The 2nd grade DI team....5 girls and 2 boys. They are pretty hyper kids!!
