Fun At The Deer Lease

Daddy & Cheney have been going to the deer lease for a while now & they love it. They finally convinced Mommy & Chandler to join them for a few days. We would only agree to go if they took the travel trailer down there. They did & we spent 2 nights there over the Thanksgiving break.

During the day, this is pretty much what the boys did....stand around & work on "things." Even Lance enjoyed hanging out with the guys.

Around 3 pm, it was time to head to the deer blind. We loaded up in the station wagon--I mean jeep!!

Daddy & Cheney were throwing out some corn for the deer.

Chandler worked at spotting some animals.

But she quickly grew tired & fell asleep.

May be the reason we saw only a few deer---potty break!!

She woke up & ate some cheetos....we decided that we picked the noisest food to take for snacks.....apples & cheetos!!

Cheney fell asleep & missed seeing the few deer we saw...didn't take any shots. Oh well, it was fun!!

Daddy & Mr. Trevor promised the boys that they would take them rabbit hunting....they had a blast, but I think they were the noisiest rabbit hunters ever. But they had fun & that is what matters!!

Thanksgiving Day

We had a pretty laid back Thanksgiving Day. It was great because we got to spend it with the people we love the most!!

We have been MIA for a while because we went to the deer lease on Thursday after Thanksgiving dinner. I have pictures and stories of that later.

But Cheney & Chandler wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving now. Thanksgiving should be everyday!!

2009 Turkey Trot

Cheney's PE teacher started an annual tradition at his school when he was in Kindergarten. It is the Turkey Trot race. It is pretty exciting. Each grade is divided between boys & girls. The race is about 3/4 of a mile (according to Cheney--who knows if that is correct!!) It rained on Friday so they couldn't run, so today was the run. Cheney got 3rd place out of the entire 2nd grade boys!! YEA!!

He won a Chick-Fil-A Kid's Meal......VERY COOL!!

A Princess At Play

I have been sick this weekend....I have strep throat. Daddy & Cheney went to the deer lease so Chandler & I have been doing a whole lot of nothing. She has spent this entire day in her princess dress.....she would wear this dress every day if we let her!!

Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon

This past weekend, we ran in the Rock 'n' Roll 1/2 Marathon. A 1/2 Marathon is 13.1 miles. Our goal was to finish in 2 hours and 15 minutes but we were able to finish in 2 hours and 10 minutes. WAY TO GO MOMMY & DADDY!!

On Saturday afternoon, we headed to the Expo. I am so excited to see my kiddos learn about living a healthy life. They are BEGGING to find races they can run in now!!

Over 30,000 people entered....the start of the race is PAST that blue circle in the picture. CRAZY HUH?

While we were running, Cheney, Chandler, MeMe & Pop were riding the shuttle to the finish line. MeMe said the kids had a blast riding the bus!!

WE FINISHED!! It is amazing that while we were running I was thinking "WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?" but now, I am ready to do another one. Crossing the finish line is the best feeling in the world!!

Happy Birthday Pop

Yes, I am late....but exactly a week ago, Pop had a birthday. BUT we were at the Lady Mat playoff game & couldn't celebrate....I mean, we celebrated a win, but not Pop's birthday.

On Thursday, we went out for Grandma & Pop's birthday....I think these are Pop's two favorite people, CHENEY & CHANDLER!! WE LOVE YOU, POP!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is Grandma's Birthday. We went out to eat the other day to celebrate. Chandler LOVES to go to Grandma's house. Frequently, when she pulls up to MeMe's house, she is heading in a dead run to Grandma's. She KNOWS where all of Grandma's snacks are & enjoys visiting her.

We love you, Grandma & we are so thankful that you are able to share our lives with us!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

Round 1 of Regional Tournament

UPDATE: WE ARE GOING TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT!!

Last night, we went to watch the Lady Mats Volleyball team play in the Regional Tournament....I have to say it was VERY exciting....we won pretty easily in 3 matches. GO MATS!! Today, they play a really good team--ranked in the state team! at 12 pm. We can't be there because Cheney has a soccer game....but I hope they win...THEN IT WILL BE ON TO STATE NEXT WEEKEND!! I was so proud of our hometown crowd. They showed up last night and it was fun!! Also, it was our head coach's 500th win!! That is an accomplishment!!

WAY TO GO LADY MATS!!

Everyone knows that we love high school school sports in our house. Tonight, we headed up the road to watch the Lady Mats play the Hutto Hippos (yes, they are the Hippos!! Only in Texas....). WE WON IN 3 MATCHES....so we are on to the Regional Tournament. YAY!!

Both kids really enjoyed watching volleyball!!

Today is Pop's birthday.....WE LOVE YOU!!

Cheney has been studying his community in social studies. He really enjoys social studies. This is one of the projects they did recently. I think he is quite the artist.

Brynlee's Princess Party

Chandler was invited to Brynlee's Princess Birthday Party.

Of course, Chandler decided to wear her princess outfit to the party.

They did princess arts & crafts.

The party was right up her alley--everything was PINK!!

Isn't it cool that I went to high school with these girl's moms? Starting from the right-Kyla (Jan Maierhofer's daughter), Brinley (Brent Beicker), and Jillian (Lisa Maierhofer). The girls had a great time!!

Chandler & Ashtyn love playing together. They are such cute girls!!

They are very girly & when in the right mood, they will pose for the camera!!

Chandler is always doing gymnastics & she decided to teach Ashtyn how to do a bridge.

But the thing they enjoy the most?? Taking a bath in the BIG BATHTUB!!

Meeting Our New Cousin

Tuesday night, we got to meet our newest cousin. The boys outnumber the girls now! Grandma said "I have the cutest great-grandkids ever!" I agree! It will be fun to watch them grow up.

Cheney is quite a bit older than all his cousins.....this is the oldest & the youngest!!

Chandler liked meeting Drew, but was more interested in Ashtyn~~his big sister!!

Goliath Bird-Eating Tarantula

Cheney was assigned a research project. He was to choose a spider, research various facts about the spider, & create a model of the spider. Mommy is NOT creative so this became Daddy's project. Cheney chose the Goliath Bird-Eating Tarantula.

Chandler would not be left out of this project.

This is Chandler's friend, Kadee. They go to school together.

Several weeks ago, they went to their other friend, Kyla's birthday party. The party included a hay ride....it was so much fun!!

Halloween Fun!!

We started our Halloween celebration by heading over to the church for the Harvest Festival. The kids had fun playing games & seeing their friends.

After the Harvest Festival, we headed over to the Edward's house for some trick or treating. The girls look so sweet but the boys look SCARY! We let the boys (Connor & Cheney) head out to trick or treat with Link--he is twelve. They were pumped to get to go by themselves. Link's mom is Chandler's Pre-school teacher, Mrs. Emard.

The girls got a last minute hug from Mr. Mark. They were all giggles!!

Both girls sweetly said "Trick or Treat" & "Thank you" at each house. Don't they look angelic? Don't let them fool you~~they both have older brothers & can definitely hold their own!!
