It has officially started......my kids grow gills every summer. We have spent our entire weekend in the water. They did not want to get out tonight. We have one more week of school. Please let the end come quickly!

My Country Bumpkins

Many of you know that MeMe & Pop have alpacas. The other day, Cheney & Chandler got to go with MeMe & Pop to get them sheared. I think I have a few country kids on my hands.

A Family That Runs Together

This weekend Cheney ran in his 1st 5K. It was a family event so he joined me & Billy. We really enjoy running & I am glad that Cheney has joined us. For most of the race, Cheney & Daddy were about a 1/4 mile ahead of me. But around the last mile, they slowed down so that I could catch up with them. We crossed the finish line together. Cheney had a time of 27:20. I had a time of 27:21 & Daddy had a time of 27:22.

Cheney & I got 2nd place in our age category. We were pretty excited!

Uncle Jeff

Last weekend, we got to spend some time with one of our favorite people. We hadn't seen Uncle Jeff for over 2 years. However, he flew in for Mommy's graduation. The kids had a fabulous time hanging out with him.

Cheney is already planning his trip to see Uncle Jeff (by himself!). We can't wait to see him again, but next time, he MUST bring Aunt Kerry!!

Mama Did It!

Several people know that I have been working on getting my Master's degree. It has been an 18 month process & I am so glad to be done. This weekend was graduation. It was so amazing to share this event with my children & spouse. When they recognized the families for their support, it was so cool to see my children proudly stand to be honored.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Last night was Chandler's end of the year preschool program. Each year the group acts out a story. When Cheney was in preschool, I know they did Noah's Ark one year, but I don't remember the other year. Anyway, this year, they did "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Chandler was the cupcake.....and I think she was the BEST CUPCAKE EVER!!

I am so proud of her. There was a time when I am not sure she would have done this, but she has grown up so much this year.

Chandler LOVES Mrs. Emard & her friend, Kadence. I think it is funny because the other name that I had picked out for Chandler was Cadence. I guess it is good I decided on Chandler--God knew they would be friends one day!!

Chandler and her friend, Weston. Weston's mom & I went to high school together. Apparently, Weston notices that Chandler wears pretty dresses to school each day....Uh oh, Keagan, you have competition!!

Chandler has started wearing dresses EVERY DAY to school....no shorts or pants....only dresses!! I guess if this continues, I will appreciate this, but right now, it makes for an interesting morning because I pick out shorts & she refuses to wear them.

New Discovery

Chandler recently went to a birthday party at the local gymnastics center. Guess who found out they want to take gymnastics?? She loved every minute of it. I gess we will be starting after the summer.

Did You Notice?

Did anybody notice I left someone out of my Mother's Day post?

I did it on purpose. You see, my Grandma was saying we never celebrate grandparents day & she thinks we should. She is probably right because she is the most amazing person I know & she deserves to be celebrated!!

I know that my Grandma will do anything she can for my family. Her dedication to her family & her faith are envious!!

GRANDMA-I celebrate you today!! I love you & I am so thankful that God gave you to me!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!! We had a fabulous lunch with many of the important mothers in our lives. We love each & every one of you!!

Muffins with Mom

This week was M week at preschool. During M week, Moms get to come have a snack with their little one. I wouldn't miss this for anything.

As I was helping Chandler get dressed for the day, she told me "Mom, make sure you wear a cute dress." It probably won't be the last time I will get directions about how to dress or act!! Chandler did a fabulous job of introducing me. This is really hard for her because she tends to be shy. It made me get a little teary to hear her sweet little voice introduce her mommy!! I love you sweet girl!!

Weir Cousin Reunion

Pop's family included 6 children. These 6 children had 14 grandchildren. Over the past several years, the grandkids have realized that they were only seeing each other @ weddings & funerals. We decided that was not good so after a year of going back & forth....the 1st Annual Weir Cousin Reunion was held!! We were all a little nervous, but very excited. It turned out fabulous & plans are being made for the next one.

Chandler & Ethan (my cousin Dan's son) became fast friends. They are the two youngest GREAT grandkids. I think Pop (or Granddaddy) would have thought these two were adorable. I wish they could have met him!! Ethan only lives a few miles down the road so we plan to see him more often.

The Weir great-grandkids....great bunch of kids but a lot were not there & we missed them!!

Cheney made it into the Million Word club.....we are so proud of him. This is not something that 2nd graders usually do....
