Deer Lease Fun!

Bubba and Daddy spent the last three days hanging out at the deer lease. They did not come home with any deer YET but they said they had a great time...just like always.

This is an "eight point" that Cheney really wants to shoot but Daddy says he needs to "grow" another year at least. Daddy told Cheney he could shoot a Doe at the end of the season.


This is one of the dozen or so rabbits that come out at night and visit them and eat the corn that is SUPPOSED to be for the deer. This is the "before" picture of the rabbit. Wait for the "after" picture........




Here it is.....The rule at the lease: You have to eat what you kill. So, Cheney ate this for dinner. He said it was good--tastes like steak!??


Cheney said this is the doe that he is going to shoot before the end of the season. The one in the front.

After Cheney and Daddy finished hunting for the day they scouted around the pasture for tracks and signs of animals. This big armadillo came scooting by and Cheney just had to shoot it. This will be good eats for the coyotes and owls tonight Daddy says.

The Big Girl Room Makeover

A few weeks ago I posted pictures of Chandler's room here and here. Well, we finally moved the furniture this past weekend.

Chandler was getting my furniture from my room. I have had this furniture since I was in the 3rd grade?? Mom, is that right?

MeMe took pictures but forgot to do it until they had already moved some things.

I always loved this dressing table.

My favorite dressing table found its way home. Most of you know that Chandler's room was my room from 4th grade until my junior year in high school. I love that she is getting my old furniture. Thanks MeMe & Pop for letting her have it & thanks for keeping it for me!!

One Last Christmas Celebration

Friday night, we headed to Nanny Gerry's house for Christmas with her. I didn't take any pictures of present opening, but I got some great pictures of the Stephenson grandkids!!

I have to say....they are pretty cute kids!!

Kase & Chandler. Kase is almost exactly 4 months older than Chandler.

The 4 kids....Karson, Cheney, Kase, & Chandler. Karson is 9 months older than Cheney.

If you know the Stephenson family, then you know that this is a typical picture....they come by it naturally!!

Amazingly, these two just wanted to keep taking pictures....they were unstoppable. I love that they are starting to enjoy each other.

To Grandma's House We Go

After Christmas with our individual families, we all gather at Grandma's house. This has been the tradition as long as I can remember. Sometimes there are a bunch of us there & sometimes there aren't. This year, we were ALL there except Jeff & Kerry. We missed you, Jeff & Kerry!!

As soon as Ashtyn pulled up, Chandler immediately went to walk her in. They were so cute!!

Santa Came!

Probably for the 1st time since Cheney was a baby, we had to wake him up on Christmas morning. But, as soon as I said, "Santa came," his eyes flew open & he jumped out of bed!!

Chandler got M&M's in her stocking....her FAVORITE!!

Santa brought Cheney some Eggos?? He wrote a letter to Santa & the local paper printed it. BUT....they mistyped Legos as Eggos!! So.....Cheney got eggos!!

Chandler got a princess bike--EXACTLY what she asked for!!


Most of MeMe's Christmas presents had to do with her cardmaking stuff. Uncle Jeff & Aunt Kerry sent her some cool cards.

Santa brought our family a Wi. This gift absolutely thrills Cheney.

Christmas Eve

Traditionally, the Stephenson family gets together on Christmas Eve. This works out great for us because the the Cloughly family gets together on Christmas Day. This means we don't have to miss the celebrations with either families.

As always, Cheney LOVES getting together with his cousins, Karson & Kase. The boys immediately started a game of Chinese Checkers.

I wanted a picture of Chandler with the boys, but she wouldn't get close to them....

But she was definitely willing to pose tonight. Doesn't she look sweet?

Chandler was the youngest Stephenson great-grandkid until 2 months ago. Little Lily was born!! Chandler was meeting her for the 1st time.

She was completely smitten with Miss Lily.

After we left the Stephenson family Christmas, we headed over to Uncle Mitch & Aunt Reva's house. We visited with Ashtyn & Thatcher for a little while. Then, we headed to MeMe & Pop's house to settle in for the night. Santa would visit us there.
